Mary Elizabeth Busard, of Veedersburg, passed away at 11:30 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, IN.
Mary E. was born on December 30, 1914 to Marvel and Dwight Johnson in Forest, IN. She married Broward G. Busard, February 1, 1941, he preceded her in death in 1985
As a child her family moved to Indianapolis in 1923, she attended the first Indianapolis grade school for crippled children in 1925, and graduated from Shortridge H.S. in 1933. She worked on J. K. Lilly’s Foster Hall Collection and the Society for Crippled Children, worked at Marshall Studios, Inc. 1945 through 1983. Mary organized and developed the goal of the Veedersburg Public Library when they moved to Veedersburg. Owned and operated The Home Accent Shop with her husband from 1963 to 1983. She was an active member of First Christian Church in Veedersburg, and served as trustee for VanBurn Township 1990 to 1994. She is survived by sister-in-law, Betty Johnson, several nieces, nephews, grand and great grand family members.
Funeral Service is 2:00 pm Saturday February 12, 2011 at First Christian Church 301 N Mill St. Veedersburg, IN, with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon on Saturday and continue until time of service at 2:00. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Christian Church, Veedersburg Public Library, or Veedersburg Fire Department. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home.
