William “Bill” Kenner, 69, of Kingman, died peacefully at his home March 26, 2011 after a short but bravely fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born January 31, 1942 in Philo, Illinois to Manley and S. Marie (Jones) Kenner. He was a 1960 graduate of Kingman High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed at Hyster Co. in Danville for 36 years, retiring in 2005. On June 18, 1967 he married Martha Jane Grady at the Freedom Christian Church in Wallace, IN. She survives.
Surviving family also include two daughters, Samantha (Mark) Fowler, Covington, IN; Rachel (Bob) Kemp, Covington; six grandchildren, Maggie McGowan, Matthew McGowan, Shelby Fowler, Jacob Kemp, Jackson Kemp, Alexandria Kemp; a brother, Mike Kenner, Zephyrhills, FL; half-sister, Betty Jane Wheeler, Riverside, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother Richard Kenner.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday March 31, 2011 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday March 30, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288.
