Genevieve “Jenny” Louise (Shelley) Minick, 87, of Veedersburg, Indiana passed away 12:21 am Saturday June 18, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. Jenny was born August 17, 1923 in Veedersburg the daughter of Walter and Lou Ethel (Smith) Shelley. She was a life resident of the Veedersburg area. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She cherished her family and friends. She married Angus Minick August 5, 1938 in Covington, Indiana. He survives alone with their children, five sons, Harold (Sherry) Minick, Las Vegas, NA; Gerald (Jean) Minick, Hoopeston, IL; Carl (Leah Mae) Minick, Wallace, IN; William (Connie) Minick and Richard Minick, both of Veedersburg; two daughters, Sandra (Garry) Henderson, Veedersburg; Helen (Robert) Jumps, Rockville, IN; 22 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Ethel Overpeck, Gold Canyon, AZ; one brother-in-law, Willard Cates, Covington, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Shelley and Howard Shelley; two sisters, Helen Shelley and Ruth Cates; one granddaughter Shelley McKenzie; one great-grandson Nathan McKenzie, both of Las Vegas NA; three brother-in-laws, Walter Minick, Dewey Minnick, Simon Minnick; sister-in-laws, Helen Shelley, Elise Flint Shelley, Fern Crothers, Audrey Lowry, Francis Vanhook Minnick, Lois Carrington Minick, Christine Hancock Booe. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Monday June 20, 2011 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service at 1:00 pm Tuesday June 21, 2011 at Dickerson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lower Mound Cemetery near Perrysville, IN. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
