Billy D. “Big Bill” Kiger, 52, of Cates, died 9:45 pm Sunday July 24, 2011 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born March 24, 1959 in Danville, IL the son of Carl E. and Elva G. (Woodrum) Kiger. He married Laurie Schanlaub September 29, 1979 in Cates, IN.
Surviving family includes his wife, Laurie Kiger, Cates, IN; father, Carl Kiger, Clinton, IN; two sons, Nathan Kiger & Jordan Kiger, at home; a daughter, Katie Kiger, Crawfordsville, IN; seven brothers, Gary (Carol) Kiger, Bedford, IN; Larry (Rhonda) Kiger, Cates, IN; twin brother, Bobbie (Robin) Kiger, Crawfordsville, IN; Kevin (Danna) Kiger, Clinton, IN; Leslie Kiger, Crawfordsville, IN; Melvin (Patsy) Kiger, Cates, IN; Scott (Kim) Kiger, Cates, IN; four sisters, Sharon Lamb, Rockville, IN; Pam Norman, Crawfordsville, IN; Teresa Moyer, Lafayette, IN; Lisa Kiger, Brazil, IN; a nephew who was like a brother, Chris Kiger, Cates, IN.
He is preceded in death by his mother, and two brothers Karl Kiger and Elvin Kiger.
Billy was a member of the Cates Community Church. He had been employed for over 17 years at Fountain Foundry in Veedersburg as a ladle operator pouring iron.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Snoddy’s Coal Creek Cemetery with Pastor Bill Nickle officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
