LAYTON WADE HATHAWAY, 17, OF VEEDERSBURG DIED 5:53 PM CDT FRIDAY JULY 29, 2011 AT CARLE
FOUNDATION HOSPITAL IN CHAMPAIGN, IL. FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT.
HE WAS BORN AUGUST 20, 1993 IN CLINTON, IN., THE SON OF RANDY AND ANN (TRAHAN) HATHAWAY.
SURVIVING FAMILY INCLUDES: HIS FATHER, MOTHER, SISTER ROBYN (BECHTOLD) PIPPIN (HUSBAND JONATHAN) OF KINGMAN, BROTHER RYAN BECHTOLD (WIFE LOIS) OF COVINGTON, BROTHER HARLAN HATHAWAY, 8 NEICES AND NEPHEWS (DELANEY, DEVIN, ANDREW, AUSTIN, JOZEY, JAYDE, GRADY AND GRACEY), GRANDPARENTS INCLUDE: JOE AND ALICE HATHAWAY OF VEEDERSBURG, LOU SWAIM (HUSBAND BONNER) OF ROCKVILLE, SID TRAHAN (WIFE PAT) OF COVINGTON, NUMEROUS AUNTS, UNCLES, AND COUSINS.
LAYTON WOULD HAVE ENTERED HIS SENIOR YEAR AT FOUNTAIN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL THIS FALL. HE WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF FFA, FOOTBALL, WRESTLING, AND THE WELDING VOCATIONAL PROGRAM.
LAYTON WAS ALSO A NINE YEAR MEMBER OF 4-H AND A MEMBER OF STERLING CHRISTIAN CHURCH. HE
WAS EMPLOYED AS A SUMMER INTERN AT CRAWFORDSVILLE WRIGHT IMPLEMENT. DURING HIS FREE
TIME LAYTON ENJOYED RIDING HIS MOTORCYCLE, WORKING ON HIS PICKUP, FARMING, WELDING, AND
SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. LAYTON WAS WELL KNOWN FOR HIS “ONE-OF-A-KIND”
SENSE OF HUMOR, LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND LETTING EVERYONE AROUND HIM KNOW
WHAT HE REALLY THOUGHT.
PLEASE JOIN LAYTON’S FAMILY IN A LIFE CELEBRATION THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 FROM 4-8 P.M. AT THE FOUNTAIN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL GYMANSIUM. PASTOR DAVE SIMS WILL SHARE A FEW WORDS IN CONCLUSION AT 8:00 PM. LAYTON’S FAMILY REQUESTS IN LIEU OF FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS THAT DONATIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS BE MADE TO THE LAYTON WADE HATHAWAY VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND (SEFE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION).
