Randy Joel Groce passed away Wednesday night, Nov. 2, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. He was 57.
Randy was born April 19, 1954 in Berwyn, IL. He grew up in Lisle, IL where he graduated from Lisle Senior High School in 1972. Randy attended technical school and became an auto mechanic. He worked in the Lisle area for many years before moving to Chesaning, MI. He worked at Machine Tool & Gear in Corunna, MI on the axle assembly line.
He was the son of Sam and Alma (Lightle) Groce and brother to Larry and Kevin Groce.
Randy liked to fish, loved music especially the oldies and particularly Elvis. He was a great cook the spicier the better and loved sharing his culinary creations with others. Randy was loving and generous of heart and spirit, always willing to help others.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers Larry (Linda) Groce, Kevin (Janet) Groce, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him every day of their lives.
His father, Sam Groce, preceded in him death.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m. at Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 North Main St., Veedersburg, IN. Interment will be in Rockfield Cemetery.
