Carolyn Sue (Strassle) Asher

Carolyn Sue (Strassle) Asher, 71, or rural Hillsboro, passed away 2:26 pm Monday December 12, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She was born April 8, 1940 in Peru, IN the daughter of Bernard J. and Mary Gaile (Ensley) Strassle. She married Lyle M. Asher October 6, 1979 in Kokomo, IN. Surviving family include her husband, Lyle Asher, Hillsboro, IN; a sister Sherry Neher, Ft. Wayne, IN; two step-sons, Mike (Jan) Asher, Shelbyville, IN; and Todd (Sarah) Asher, Sammamish, WA; two step-daughters, Debra (Jim) Stafford, Shelbyville, IN; and Tricia J. Cloud (fiancé, Hank Hair) Cummins, GA; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister and a step-daughter, Cheryl Lane. Sue graduated from Peru High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in South Bend, IN. She was employed as a Registered Nurse retiring from Hook’s Rehab. (currently Community East) in Indianapolis, and volunteered with Hope in Crisis and Twin Lakes Camp near Hillsboro after her retirement. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, IN. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday December 22, 2011 at East Side Baptist Church 2000 Traction Road Crawfordsville, IN. with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to Twin Lakes Camp.
