Ruth Elizabeth Harrison

Ruth Elizabeth Harrison, 94, of Kingman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday February 26, 2012. Ruth was born September 12, 1917 in Roanoke, IN the daughter of Joseph and Lona Mae (Crull) Hartman. She had two brothers, Paul and Robert Hartman. Ruth’s father was killed by lightening when she was only five. Five years later her mother married Herbert Sigler of State Line, Indiana. Ruth married Raymond L. Harrison November 17, 1939 in Wallace, IN. They had five children. Delmar Lee (Rita) Harrison, Joseph Leon (Beverly) Harrison, Larry Eugene (Robin) Harrison, John Wayne Harrison, all of Kingman , Mary Beth (Gary) Crawford, Snow Hill N.C.; twelve grandchildren, Angela Star, Kevin, Rick, Donna, Chris, Jamie, Deanna, Jourdan, Cameron Harrison, Rachel Mims, Joetta & Bethany Crawford, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren She is preceded in death by her husband in 1989, parents, loving grandparents, brothers, a grandson, and a great granddaughter. Ruth resided near Kingman for over seventy three years. Ruth and her husband were charter members of the Yeddo Baptist Church; she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Yeddo Baptist Ladies Missionary Group. Ruth was a homemaker and loved to raise canaries and watch the birds outdoors, especially her beloved red cardinals. Every spring she could hardly wait to see her many flowers come through God’s green earth. She always said flowers were like children, you have to enjoy them every minute, because they grow fast and are soon out of your care. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Yeddo Baptist Church in Yeddo, IN with Pastor Jim Rivers officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday February 28, 2012 at the Yeddo Baptist Church. Interment will be at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be given to Yeddo Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home.
