Jackie D. Lang Sr.

Jackie D. Lang Sr. , 79, of Dana, IN, passed away at his residence 9:50 am Tuesday May 1, 2012. Mr. Lang was born December 26, 1932 in Veedersburg, IN the son of Ed and Alice (Baldwin) Lang. He married Leoma Sue Sowers September 28, 1956 in Covington, IN. Surviving family include his wife, Leoma Sue Lang, Dana; six sons, Jack D. (Tammy) Lang Jr, Covington; Gerry Lang; Jeffrey (Cristy) Lang, Norfolk NE; Timothy (Brandi) Lang, Osceola, NE; Michael (Candy) Lang, Dana; Ricky “Pete” Lang, Crawfordsville; one daughter, Brenda (Ty) Murphy, Dana; a sister Mary Jane Gaskill; 27 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Lang, a brother Glenn Lang, two half-brothers Norval Lang and Gerald Lang. Jackie was a member of the Veedersburg Nazarene Church and Local Teamsters Union in Danville. He was employed as a truck driver for 48 years accumulating 4 million accident free miles. He had driven for Ryder P.I.E., retiring in 1985, and then drove for D&S Powell until 2000. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday May 5, 2012 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
