Donald Lee Staggs Jr.

Donald Lee “Donnie” Staggs Jr., 52, of Palm Harbor, Florida, died 1:50am Friday August 31, 2012, at his parent’s residence near Veedersburg after a year long battle with cancer. Donnie was born April 29, 1960 in Battle Creek., Michigan the son of Donald Lee and Ruth E (Elmore) Staggs Sr. He married Erica Ann Gibson March 26, 2011 in Belle Air Beach, Florida. Surviving family include his wife, Erica Staggs, Florida; parents Donald & Ruth Staggs Sr., Veedersburg; three sons Dereck Staggs, Largo, FL; Justin Staggs & Christopher Staggs, Arkansas; a sister, Missy (Kenny) Storkman, Veedersburg; a brother Jeff (Annie) Staggs, Veedersburg; four half-sisters, Mary, Janet, Peggy & Bobbie; three half-brothers, Gary, Mike, & Ken; several grandchildren; and a good friend and business partner Steve Wilmot, New Port Richey, FL. Donnie had served in the US Army, he was employed as a general contractor in Florida for many years. He had recently attended Scotts Prairie Church, and was continually in their prayers. He was in the process of joining the F & AM Lodge 491 in Veedersburg. His hobbies included golfing and riding his Harley. Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Monday September 3, 2012 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Monday and continue until the time of service.
