Nellie S Whyde

Nellie S Whyde, 98, of Covington, passed away 11:10 am Saturday December 8, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. Mrs. Whyde was born December 29, 1913 in Cates Indiana the daughter of Stephen B. and Cora I. (Babb) Allen. She married John Whyde October 29, 1935 in Danville, Illinois, he preceded her in death in 1965. She is also preceded in death by a sister. Surviving family include a son, Ethan (Mary) Whyde, near Kingman, IN. Nellie graduated from Kingman High School in 1931 and was employed by The Fountain Trust Company in Covington for twenty years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington for many years. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Paul Kent officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Coal Creek Cemetery south of Covington.
