Darlene Byers, 73, of Veedersburg, passed away 8:30 AM Saturday February 9, 2013 at Regency Place in Lafayette, IN.
She was born November 13, 1939 in Rossville, IL the daughter of James O. and Mary L. (Tillotson) Tuggle. They have preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ronnie Tuggle; a sister, Dolores Tuggle; two half-sisters, Mary Tuggle and Jane Paine; a grandchild, Amanda Herron; and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Samantha.
Darlene graduated from Covington High School in 1959. She had been employed as a cook at Maple Corner and the Beef House restaurants in years past, and retired from the Indiana State Highway Department in 2009. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church.
Surviving family include a daughter, Amber (Brad) Herron, Crawfordsville; a son, Brian Lee (Anita) Byers, Evansville; two brothers, Kenneth D. (Sandy) Tuggle, Covington; Ray (Linda) Tuggle, Covington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Thursday February 14, 2013 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Sterling Christian Church. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
