T J Key

T J Key, 74, of Veedersburg, passed away 7:30 PM (CDT)Thursday June 13, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign, IL. T J was born July 3, 1938 in Austin, KY the son of Louie F. and Annie Marie (Woods) Key. He married his bride of 57 years, Willie Mae Hurd April 12, 1956 in Glasgow KY. Surviving family include his wife Willie Mae Key, Veedersburg; daughter, Peggy Jo Key, Allerton IL; son Michael (Kimberly) Key, Veedersburg; two brothers, G C Key, Lamb KY; & Ernest (Jane) Key, Lafayette IN; sister, Gloria Walters, Allerton IL; four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Reed, Jessica Cole Bowman, Kayla Renae Key, Stephen James Key; five great-grandchildren, Maranda Lynn Reed, Russell James Reed, Kendra Leanne Amos, Hunter James Key, Kaysen Dwayne Amos. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Delzie Fulton, and a brother William Franklin Key. TJ and Willie had lived in Allerton IL for 40 years where he was employed at Allerton Supply for 35 years. They moved to Veedersburg in 1997 and he was employed at Masterguard for 7 years. He was a musician and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He enjoyed gardening and was able to work on most anything, being known as a “Jack of all Trades” Memorial service will be held 11:00 am (EDT) Monday June 17, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Timothy Key officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Monday and continue until the time of service at 11:00. Following the service everyone is welcome to join the family for ice cream (TJ’s favorite) at his home.
