Beverly A. (Abolt) Rennison, 70, of Veedersburg, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family at 8:25 am Sunday December 1, 2013.
She was born October 13, 1943 in Danville, IL the daughter of Marvin D. and Elinor A. (Wellheuser) Abolt. Her mother recently preceded her in death November 24, 2013, and her father preceded her in death in 1986. Beverly married Alfred John Rennison August 14, 1966 at the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church.
Her surviving family include, husband John Rennison, Veedersburg; daughter, Amy J. (Bryan) Delp, Lawrenceburg, IN; two grandsons, Christopher J. Delp & Henry L. Delp; a special aunt Patricia Boord, Veedersburg; uncle, John “Jack” Wellheuser, Texas; sister in law, Nancy (Jerry) Frey, Veedersburg; niece, Lana (Doug) Walton, Veedersburg; nephew, Ty Lightle, Lyford, IN; niece Christy Frey Chambers, VA; and great-niece Kenli Walton.
Beverly graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1961 and Indiana State University in 1965. She was a school teacher for 41 years, beginning at Newtown in 1965 and moving to Southeast Fountain Elementary upon the school’s consolidation. She retired from Southeast Fountain Elementary in 2007. Beverly was a lifelong member of Stone Bluff Community Church where she had been very involved over the years as Pianist, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Treasurer. She was also a member of O.E.S Valleta Chapter in Veedersburg, D.A.R. and MaMaRu.
Beverly enjoyed playing the piano, reading books, especially mysteries; taking care of the hummingbirds and her dog Tippy. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and reading to her grandsons.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday December 4, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday December 5, 2013 at Dickerson Funeral Home with Pastor Daneen Rodriguez, Pastor Stanley Hicks, and Pastor Richard Throckmorton officiating.
