Bobby Lex Thomas, 66, passed away 3:55 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2014 at his residence in Ladoga, IN.
Mr Thomas was born May 20, 1948 in Williamsport IN the son of Orie Lex Thomas and Margie (Milburg) Etchison. He married Vicki L. Baldwin October 16, 1966 in Veedersburg IN.
Surviving family include his mother, Margie Etchison, Williamsport; wife Vicki L. Thomas, Ladoga; four daughters, Tracy (Kenneth) Duling, Spencer; Rebecca (Philip) Brown, Crawfordsville; Jennifer Allen, Indianapolis; Marcy (Troy) Baldwin, Crawfordsville; two sons, William (Emily) Thomas, Crawfordsville; Bradley Wayne Thomas (fiancé, Amanda Harlos), Crawfordsville; three brothers, Mike (Loretta) Thomas, Williamsport; Fred (Betsy) Kerst, Veedersburg; Ricky (Jeanie) Thomas, Danville IL; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way.
He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother James “Jimmy” Thomas of California.
Bobby had served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout the years he had worked at Harrison Steel, Fountain Foundry, Mid-State Steel, Montgomery County and Indiana State Highway Departments, was a Town Marshall in both Wingate and New Richmond, and had been employed as a private investigator. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flying airplanes, fishing, CB Radio, and building gyrocopters.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday July 29, 2014 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Dickerson Funeral Home with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
