James M. Carwile, 77, of Kingman and formerly of Covington, passed away 10:24 AM Sunday November 2, 2014 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Indiana.
Jim was born on Mother’s Day May 9, 1937 in rural Covington, IN the son of James Austin and Ruth (Shuff) Carwile. He married Judy (Bruffy) Frey July 16, 1988 in Covington, he had previously been married to Shirley Russel and then Ruthann Keller.
Surviving family include his wife, Judy Frey-Carwile, Kingman; a sister, Fran Bumpus, Covington; four children, Tamie (Tim) Hovden, Debeque, CO; Craig Carwile and Brian Carwile, both of Westville, IL; Kevin (Ronica) Carwile, Virginia IL; three step-children, Jeff (Kim) Frey, Danville IL; Jennifer (Kevin) Frey Mason, Kingman; Jodie Frey, Danville IL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Carwile; and a brother-in-law, Larry Bumpus.
Jim graduated from Covington High School in 1955, he had been employed around the area both as an auto-body repairman and a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, cooking, working in the yard and around the house.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM (EST) Thursday November 6, 2014 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM (EST) Wednesday November 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
