Shirley Mae Robbins, 79, of Covington IN, passed away 8:10 am Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Bowman Estates in Danville Illinois.
She was born January 2, 1936 in Perrysville IN the daughter of Raymond and Grace (Coleman) Wilson. She married Lloyd L. Robbins June 18, 1955 in Veedersburg IN; he preceded her in death March 2, 2013.
She is also preceded in death by a son Gilbert Robbins, and a step-son John Robbins.
Surviving family include two sons, Lloyd R. (Dina) Robbins, Veedersburg; Leslie E. (Lisa) Robbins, Covington; three daughters, Cindy (Jim) Bushue, Covington; Sheri (Mike) Hinchman, Danville IL; Judy (Ron) Lockhart, Attica; two brothers, Rendall (Carol) Wilson, West Bend WI; Larry (Rosie) Wilson, Danville IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley graduated from Perrysville High School in 1954. She had been employed at different occupations throughout the years, most recently as nutrition director at Friendship Circle Center in Covington. She loved and enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Shirley was well known for saying – Whatever will be will be, it’s in God’s hands now.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday February 20, 2015 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Tom Hunter officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Friday and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
