Judith Joan Craig

Judith Joan Craig, 83, of Zionsville, and formerly on Veedersburg IN passed away 6:20 pm Friday August 21, 2015 and St Vincent Hospice Center in Indianapolis, IN Mrs. Craig was born June 21, 1932 in Tangier, IN the daughter of Paul Cedric and Gertrude Anna (Lange) Shoaf. She married Robert S. Craig August 5, 1950 in Veedersburg; he preceded her in death November 19, 2006. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, one grandchild, and three great-grandchildren. Surviving family include a son, Steve (Cathy) Craig, Cottonwood AZ; five daughters, Anita Allison, Avon IN; Melodie (Wade) Leinart, Clayton IN; Debbie (Bob) Holtzman, Woodstock GA; Becky (Dan) Morford, LaPorte IN; Julie (Chris) Wooldridge, Zionsville IN; a sister, Sue (Jack) Bennett, Cayuga IN; 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Joan graduated as class valedictorian in 1950 from Tangier High School. She was a member of Traders Point Christian Church in Zionsville. Throughout her life she had enjoyed traveling, watching the birds, fishing, reading, and listening to gospel music. She especially loved and enjoyed her family. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am Wednesday and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans or Wounded Warriors.
