Shirley Ann Alston

Shirley Ann Alston was taken home by her Lord on November 26, 2015, at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation. Shirley was born May 28, 1935, in Veedersburg, Indiana, to Manford and Ellen Trobaugh Alston. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mildred Ailene, and her brother, Wayne Alfred (Meredith). Surviving is one nephew, Robert Wayne of South Portland, Maine. She graduated from Veedersburg High School and Utterback-Brown Business College in Danville, IL. She worked part time for several grocers in Veedersburg, and was employed by Hall Freight Lines and Hyster Company in Danville, IL. After retiring, she operated the Busy Bee Baby Sitting Service. She loved children of all ages and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking. Shirley was an active member of the Veedersburg Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, at the Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN. Friends will be received one hour before the service. Interment will be in the Rockfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Veedersburg Methodist Church or the Hillsboro Nazarene Church.
