Mary Magdalene Hankins

Mary Magdalene Hankins, 78, of Veedersburg, died 3:25 pm Sunday March 15, 2009 at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica, IN. Mrs. Hankins was born August 20, 1930 in Wallace, IN. the daughter of Claud N. and Leota M. (Marshall) Clark. She married Wayne Hankins July 23, 1949. He has preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Hankins and Wallace Pickett. Surviving is a son Ted (Barbara) Hankins, Veedersburg; a sister Wandalyne Bunch, Lafayette; a brother Harold (Maureen) Clark, Brea, CA; two grandsons, Tony Risner and Mike Risner, and five great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of Easter Star in Yeddo, IN. Earlier in life Mary had been employed as waitress in area restaurants including Gross’s Restaurant in Sterling and the VFW Post# 2395 in Covington. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday March 19, 2009 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Interment at Coopers Chapel Cemetery.
