Judith L. “Judy” Gayler, 69, of Covington, passed away 8:30 PM Monday December 21, 2015 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Judy was born June 26, 1946 near Covington the daughter of Richard & Juanita Jane (Bass) Griffin. She married Gary E. Gayler June 13, 1964 in Veedersburg.
Surviving family include her husband Gary E. Gayler, Covington; daughter, Susie (Chad) Bolser, Covington; son, Jeff (Hillary) Gayler, Fithian IL; two brothers, Dick (Marsha) Griffin, Rockford IL; Scott (Melissa) Griffin, Stone Bluff IN; a sister, Ann (Doug) Abbott, Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, Karson Allen, MaKenzie Gayler, MaKayla Gayler, Maddie Bolser, Gage Gayler; and her dog, Maisy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Jason Gary Gayler.
Judy graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1964. Through the years she had been employed as a secretary at Esco Corp. in Danville, and the Commercial News office in Covington. She was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville IL. Judy’s greatest enjoyment in life was her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. Judy also enjoyed getting together with her friends and classmates from the Class of 1964.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM (EST) Sunday December 27, 2015 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon (EST) Sunday and continue until the time of service. Interment will follow service at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg.
