Larry G. Strean, 79, of Veedersburg, passed away at Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation 5:29 AM Tuesday March 8, 2016 in Williamsport, Indiana. Larry was born March 3, 1937 in Danville, Illinois the son of Gilbert Strean and Troy & Mildred G. (Reed) Timmons. He married Shirley L. Jenks September 19, 1959. Surviving family include his wife Shirley L. Strean, Veedersburg; a daughter, Denise (Jeff) Duncan, Veedersburg; two granddaughters, Courtney (Don) Rogers, Jessica (Brad) Keller; step-granddaughter, Amber (Michael) Pickett, all of Veedersburg; great-grandchildren Austin Pickett, Ethan & Hayden Wigley, Ashley & Colin Rogers; brother in law, Duane (Marlene) Jenks, Veedersburg; close family friend, Jimmy Coulter; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Michael Duane Hay. Larry graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1955, and was employed at Raybestos in Crawfordsville for 43 years prior to his retirement. He had been a member of the Jaycees. He enjoyed attending tractor pulls, antique car shows and parades, and the Newport Hill Climb. He also enjoyed his and Shirley’s September trips to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday March 11, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Steve Padgett officiating.
