Vona Marie Fulkerson

Vona Marie Fulkerson, 86, passed away 2:06 am Friday May 22, 2009 at her residence in Yeddo, Indiana. She was born July 27, 1922 in Dudley, Illinois the daughter of Melvin D. and Jennie (Augustus) Richey. She married John O. Fulkerson September 23, 1943 in Paris Illinois. He has preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Surviving family includes three sons, Larry E. Fulkerson (wife Linda), Kingwood, TX; Thomas O. Fulkerson, Zionsville, IN; Stanley J Fulkerson (wife Kathy), Williams, IN; two daughters, Jeanetta Lou Allen (husband Rex), Veedersburg; Connie Lynn Pilatz (husband James), Kingman; two sisters, Mary Clendenen, (husband Bob), Monticello, IN; and Audrey Carroll, Illinois; one brother David Richey, (wife Margaret) Covington; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Vona graduated from Grandview High School in 1940. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and caring for her family throughout her life. She especially loved and enjoyed her many grandchildren. She attended Sterling Christian Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday May 25, 2009 at Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Interment at Mt Hope Cemetery, Covington. Visitation is 6:00 -9:00 pm Sunday May 24, 2009 at the church. Family request memorial contributions be made to Hanging Rock Christian Camp for Kids, envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home.
