Naomi Irene Rahm, 88, of Stringtown IN, passed away at her residence Thursday June 16, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Irene was born November 11, 1927 the daughter of Guy William and Martha Pauline (Sheese) Sims in Spencer IN. She married Alvia Lee Rahm February 25, 1946 in Spencer, he has preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Guy Sims, John E. Sims; and a sister Rubye Aladene Rood.
Surviving family include three daughters, Terry Irene (Mark) Iunghuhn, Princeton IN; Ruby Pauline Rahm, Lafayette IN; Tammy Kay (Danny) Smith, Attica IN; three sons, Gary Lee (Delma) Rahm, Cayuga IN; Ricky Len (Betty) Rahm, Covington IN; Guy Lewis “Bud” Rahm, Attica IN; a brother Billie D. (Phyllis) Sims, Covington IN; sixteen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and nineteen step great-grandchildren.
Irene graduated from Spencer High School in 1945. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #263 in Cayuga IN. Earlier in life she had been employed at Steel Grip, and retired from there in 1992. In her retirement she enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday June 22, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Tony DeMoss officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday June 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow service at Snoddy’s Coal Creek Cemetery.
