Mildred Maxine “Millie” Ratcliff, 95, formerly of Kingman IN, passed away 1;20 AM Wednesday June 22, 2016 at Parkview Heath Care in Attica Indiana.
Mrs. Ratcliff was born July 31, 1920 in Kingman the daughter of Robert P. and Sylvia Grace (Alward) Newnum. She married Donald E. Dillon June 2, 1937. They were blessed with four children, and he preceded her in death July 2, 1952. Her 2nd marriage was to Donald Ratcliff August 15, 1955, and he preceded her in death May 12, 1968.
She is also preceded in death by a son Donald Joe Dillon; two brothers, Bob Newnum, Chuck Newnum; and a great-granddaughter, Megan Lonneman.
Surviving family include a daughter, Patty (Tom) Dillon Ratcliff Brown, Dana IN; two sons, Jack Lee (Sue) Dillon, Kingman; John E. (Sue) Dillon Ratcliff, Attica; a brother, Dr. Raymond Newnum, Evansville IN; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Millie attended school in Kingman and was a member of the E.U.B. Church now known as the Kingman Community Church. Over the years she had been employed as a cook at Kingman High School, Remington High School and the Oasis Restaurant in Kingman. She was a great cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for big family dinners.
Millie enjoyed raising flowers of many varieties. She had enjoyed the time she lived in Arizona with her first husband, and she enjoyed taking trips back to Arizona over the years with her family.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday June 25, 2016 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Joe Buker officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
