Tommilou Corey, 62, of rural Veedersburg, passed away 1:16 AM Wednesday May 10, 2017 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Tommilou was born March 12, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio the daughter of Harold Thomas and Janet Lou (Janeway) Brown. She married Robert L. “Butch” Corey June 23, 1973 at the First Christian Church in Veedersburg.
Surviving family include her husband Butch Corey, Veedersburg; two daughters, Amber (John) Carver, Veedersburg; Allison (Matthew) Alexander, Kingman; a son, Rob (Brittany) Corey, Covington; a brother, Sam (Marianne) Brown, Veedersburg; three grandchildren, Eli Carver, Ashlyn Alexander, Easton Alexander; her best friend, Peggy Elliott; and many other good friends throughout the community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren, Audrey Alexander and Elias Alexander.
Tommilou graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1973; while in school she was active in both the Pep and Marching Band, and as a cheerleader. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she had attended many years, and had more recently been attending Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed spending time at area garage sales and shopping. She enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting family and holiday dinners. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and attending their activities. Tommilou will always be remembered as one who was eager to give and help those who were in need.
Funeral service will be 5:30 PM Saturday May 13, 2017 at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Ward-Bopp officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 – 5:00 PM Saturday May 13, 2017 at the church. Burial will follow service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
