Arnold Lee “Boze” Keeling, 74, life-long Veedersburg resident passed away peacefully at his home 10:07 PM Tuesday August 8, 2017 with his family at his side.
Boze was born March 10, 1943 in Veedersburg the son of John L. Keeling Jr. and June R. (Keller) Davis. He married his wife of 52 years Joyce K. Mycroft November 14, 1964 in Covington. His father has preceded him in death.
Surviving family include his mother, June R. (Keller) Davis, Anderson, IN; wife, Joyce K. Keeling, Veedersburg; a daughter, Shelley (Tom) Snelling, Sherman, IL; a son, Greg (Rita) Keeling, Veedersburg; a sister, Helen Hoagland, Anderson, IN; a brother, Dennis Keeling, Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Joshua (Lori) Snelling, Amy (Jared) Spaid, Hunter Keeling, Sawyer Keeling; and three great-grandchildren.
Boze graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1961, he then served his country in the US Army 1962-1964 stationed in Germany. After returning home he was employed at Harrison Steel, Tee-Pak, Wicks Lumber, and for many years employed at Indiana Bell retiring from there December 31, 1995, then went on to work for Johnson Control until retiring once again in 2001.
He attended New Century Christian Church near Veedersburg. He was a member of the F. & A.M. Lodge #491 and American Legion Post #288 both in Veedersburg. In his free time Boze enjoyed woodworking, he especially enjoyed being outdoors whether he was working in his yard, cutting wood, mushrooming or hunting rabbit and deer.
Funeral service will be 6:00 PM Saturday August 12, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Greg McDonald officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 – 5:45PM Saturday at the funeral home with Masonic Service beginning at 5:45PM. Military honors will be given by American Legion Post #288 and the US Army. Private family burial will be at a later date at Bonebrake Cemetery with Pastor Joe Dodds officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to American Legion Post #288 or the American Cancer Society.
