David N. Hoffman, 80 of Veedersburg IN, passed away 3:07 AM Thursday October 19, 2017 at the VA Illiana Health Care in Danville, Illinois.
David was born July 4, 1937 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin the son of Raymond and Lorraine (Taddy) Hoffman. They have preceded him in death; he is also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
He married Margaret Schultz in 1961 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin; they were blessed with three sons and a daughter. More recently David was married to Marilyn Leas.
Surviving family include his wife, Marilyn Leas Hoffman; three sons, David Hoffman, Marietta GA; Michael Hoffman, South Bend IN; James Hoffman, Lafayette IN; a daughter, Julia McCoy, Lafayette IN; a brother, Peter Hoffman, Indianapolis IN; a sister, Mary Jo Albee, Pollock Pines CA; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
David served his country many years in the US Navy, during both the Korean War and Vietnam War. He had enlisted at an early age and retired from the Navy in 1974. He was then employed as a diesel mechanic for Operating Engineers Local #103 in West Lafayette IN, retiring from there in 1997.
He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W, American Legion, Navy Club in Lafayette, NRA, Enlisted Men’s Association, and the Moose Lodge.
