Clifford L Crider

Clifford L. Crider, 91, of rural Covington, passed away 7:30 AM Saturday October 28, 2017 at Williamsburg Health Care in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was born February 26, 1926 in Penfield Illinois the son of Otto H. and Elsie L (Dunkman) Crider. He married Anna Lou Newman August 5, 1945 in Sterling IN; she preceded him in death January 14, 1998. He is also preceded in death by a son Dick Crider. Surviving family include two daughters, Donna J. (Ron) Garrison, Veedersburg; Debi (Todd) Hegg, Covington; two sons, Wayne (Mary) Crider, Veedersburg; David (Jill) Crider, Veedersburg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren totaling 39. Clifford was a life-long Fountain County farmer; he had traveled with his parents by horse and wagon to settle in Fountain County when he was six years old. He graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1943. He was a long-time member of the Osborn Prairie Church and had served many years as the Osborn Prairie Cemetery Treasurer; more recently he had attended the Sterling Christian Church. Earlier in life he had enjoyed camping and traveling, he and Anna Lou had traveled to all fifty states along with trips to Europe and Mexico. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday November 1, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow service at Osborn Prairie Cemetery.
