Edward A. Hipsher, 81, died 8:46 am Tuesday October 20, 2009 at his residence near Veedersburg.
Mr. Hipsher was born September 12, 1928 in Marshfield, Indiana the son of Ira and Louise (Routzan) Hipsher. He married Doris K. Kiser June 26, 1948 in Williamsport. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this previous year.
Surviving family includes his wife Doris Hipsher, Veedersburg; two sons, Larry Hipsher, Veedersburg, Mike Hipsher, Pittsboro; sister Martha Simpson, Crawfordsville; sister-in-law, Karen Gee (husband Bob), Covington; grandson, Todd Hipsher, Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Maxine Bryant and Betty Galvin.
Ed was employed for many years by Veedersburg Foundry, retiring in 1993. He had also worked on many farms over the years. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, squirrel hunting, woodworking, and pitching horseshoes. He also enjoyed working in the vegetable and rose gardens. Most of all he loved and enjoyed his family.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday October 24, 2009 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Chaplain Zach Rainey officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and continue until the time of service. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
