Lois Mae Richardson

Lois Mae Richardson, 92, formerly of Cates, IN, died 5:50 am Wednesday October 21, 2009 at the Waters of Covington. Mrs. Richardson was born August 29, 1917 near Veedersburg, Indiana the daughter of Sam and Leona (Strader) Mettee. She married Lewis Richardson October 12, 1935 in Covington, IN. Lewis preceded her in death in 1994. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Betty Hensley, son-in-law Ray Hensley, three brothers and four sisters. Surviving family includes two sons, Bobby E. Richardson, Veedersburg; Raymond Richardson (wife, Glenda), Kingman; three daughters, Mary Whyde (husband Ethan), Kingman; Janet Ping, Covington; Becky Brook (husband Randall), Crawfordsville; thirteen grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren. She graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1935. She was a member of the Cates Community Church. She was previously employed for over 18 years at RMC in Attica, retiring in 1972. Lois’s greatest enjoyment in life came from her family and her many grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday October 23, 2009 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Bill Nickle officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until the time of service. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
