Joyce I. Parkinson

Joyce I. Parkinson, 70, of Wilmington, IL, formerly of Veedersburg, IN, died 5:40 am Sunday November 29, 2009 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. She was born July 11 1939 in Steger, Illinois the daughter of Delbert P. and Elizabeth (Conrad) Weddel. Joyce was married March 12, 1958 to Daniel Parkinson in Joliet, Illinois, he has preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers James D. Weddel & Delbert Weddel, and an infant sister Beverly. Surviving family includes a sister Mary “Betty” Brindy, Wilmington, IL, brother Mark (Cindy) Weddel , Long Point, IL; a special niece that had been like a daughter, Melany Joy (Ray) Loetscher, Wilmington, IL. and many other nieces and nephews. Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg, past matron and 50 year member Order of Eastern Star Hazel Chapter #390, in Crete, IL; past guardian Job’s Daughters Bethel #50. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday December 6, 2009 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, IN with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon and continue until the time of service on Sunday. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be given to First Christian Church in Veedersburg.
