Nona Annabelle (Fisher) Abney, 74, of rural Hillsboro, IN, passed away 9:00 am Sunday December 13, 2009 at her residence. Annabelle was born January 6, 1935 in Veedersburg the daughter of Darrel Leon and Hazel Wilma (Smith) Fisher. She married Dairrell Abney January 6, 1957 in Danville, Illinois. Surviving family includes five sons, Robert L ( Laura) Abney, Annawan, IL; Keith Dwayne Abney (Kim Burke), Arizona; Bruce Michael ( Karen) Abney, Arizona; Steven Troy ( Tracy) Abney, Arizona; Darrel Leon ( Beth) Abney, Veedersburg; six grandchildren, Troy Vincent Abney, Victor Robert Abney, Allison Michelle Abney, Austin James Abney, Megan Paige Abney, and Gage Quinten Abney. She is preceded in death by her husband Dairrell, and a brother Robert Fisher. She graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1953. She had previously been employed at General Electric in Danville, as a School Bus Driver in Morton, IL, and Veedersburg Florist. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Veedersburg and Pythian Sisters in Hillsboro. She had been a Cub Scout leader in Illinois for many years and was a great supporter and fan of her boy’s sports. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Saturday December 19, 2009 at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene in Hillsboro, IN. with Pastor Greg McDonald and Buzz Roberts officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 pm Friday December 18, 2009 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Annabelle Abney Memorial Fund payable to Robert or Darrel Abney. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
