R. Edward Hetrick

R. Edward Hetrick, 63, of Veedersburg, passed away 3:11 PM Tuesday March 30, 2010 at St. Clare Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Ed was born June 12, 1946 in Danville, Illinois the son of F. Robert and Emogene (Bannon) Hetrick. He married DeAnn Rae Lund August 2, 1969 in Minnesota. Surviving family includes his wife, DeAnn Hetrick, Veedersburg; son, Abe Hetrick, Veedersburg; daughter, Lindsay (Kevin) Wildman, Covington; sister Joye Dannenbring, Freeman, S.D.; two grandchildren, Uriah Wildman & Cassandra Wildman. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carol Jean Hetrick. Ed graduated from Covington High School in 1964 and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had farmed for many years in the Veedersburg area. He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg, where he was a long time board member and was serving currently as an Elder. He was a little league umpire for many years. Ed loved people and God. He loved being able to spend his time helping people. Visitation will be 1:00 – 4:00 PM Friday April 2 at Sterling Christian Church. Visitation will continue at Dickerson Funeral Home 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday April 2. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 3, 2010 at Sterling Christian Church with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Rockfield Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #288.
