Barbara F. Patton, 68, of Veedersburg, passed away 6:01 am Sunday April 18, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport, Indiana. Barbara was born July 15, 1941 in Jasper, Alabama the daughter of Alonzo & Esther (Kilgore) Lee. She married Louis M. Patton June 16, 1961 at the Prairie Creek Baptist Church, near Veedersburg. Surviving family includes her husband Louis M. Patton, Veedersburg; son, Derrek (Tania) Patton, Naperville, Il; two daughters, Diana (Kurt) Aping, Beech Grove, IN; and Angela Fruits, Covington, IN; two brothers Clyde Lee, Jasper, AL; and Gene (Lorraine) Lee, Hartselle, AL; four sisters, Mildred Smith, Hartselle, AL; Freda (Larry) McMahan, Veedersburg; Betty Dobbins, Jasper, AL; Sylvia (Richard) Hancock, Decatur, AL; four grandchildren, Kole Aping, Kyle Aping, Noah Fruits, Emily Patton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Roy Lee and Bobby Ray Lee. Barbara graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1959. She was a member of Community Bible Baptist Church for over forty years, during these years she had enjoyed teaching Sunday School classes and helping in the nursery. Her greatest enjoyment in life had come from being with her family, and she especially loved her grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday April 21, 2010 at Community Bible Baptist Church near Veedersburg with Pastor James Furr officiating. Visitation is 4:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday April 20, 2010 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN.
