Darwin D. Cox, 70, of Veedersburg, died 3:00 am Thursday September 23, 2010 at the Waters of Covington.
He was born September 9, 1940 in Veedersburg the son of Claude E. and Sylvia (Martin) Cox. They have preceded him in death.
He is also preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Surviving family include a daughter, Lori (Tony) Ellis, Georgetown, IL; son, Bryan Cox, Veedersburg; two brothers, Vern Cox, Veedersburg; Verlin Cox, Omaha, NE; four sisters, Reatha McClure, Veedersburg; Rae Ann Morgan, Veedersburg; Ronna Lea (Odell) Sandlin, Mellott; Beverly English, Veedersburg; one granddaughter, Katasha Brynn Ellis, Georgetown; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
Darwin had been employed at the Veedersburg Brick Yard, General Motors in Tilton, Oil Rigs in Gulf of Mexico, and in road construction. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time mushroom hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, cards, pool, spending time with his friends, and most of all spending time with his family.
He was a very special person and will be truly missed by all that knew him. He always knew how to make you laugh.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday September 27, 2010 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Monday and continue until the time of service. Interment at Cold Spring Cemetery in Veedersburg. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Serenity Hospice.
