Thelma L. Kennedy, 87, of Monticello formerly of Lafayette, died 3:05 am Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care.
She was born September 2, 1923 in Wingate, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Hesler) Kennedy.
Surviving family include a sister, Irene Clore, Veedersburg; and a niece, Carolyn (Allen) Williams, Monticello. She is preceded in death by a nephew John Clore.
Thelma graduated from Crawfordsville High School. She was a member of the Brown Street United Methodist Church in Lafayette. She was employed at Donnellys , and later worked for Curtis Wright and Dr. Hanson at Purdue University in the Hall of Music, retiring from there in 1985. She enjoyed performing for many years at Camp Atterbury for the USO during WWII.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday November 27, 2010 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Michael Trusty officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Interment will be at Bonebrake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Brown Street United Methodist Church.
