Alice L Hathaway

Alice L. Hathaway, 94, of rural Veedersburg IN, passed away 11:44 AM Saturday July 27, 2024 at Fountain Springs in Covington, IN. 

Alice was born June 19, 1930 in Bourne, Mass; the daughter of Elmer and Helen Landers. She married Joe R. Hathaway November 10, 1956 in Cataumet, Mass; he preceded her in death June 16, 2021. 

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Layton Wade Hathaway July 29, 2011; a brother Richard Landers; and a sister, Jean Behringer. 

Surviving family includes two sons, Scott (Debby) Hathaway, and Randy (Ann) Hathaway; both of rural Veedersburg; five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. 

Alice graduated from Bourne High School in 1948. She was a long-time active member of the Veedersburg United Methodist Church; and was a member of the Ladies Quilt Club that met in Veedersburg for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the library. 

She was employed for over thirty years at Bell Telephone/AT&T; first as a switchboard operator and later in the business office. 

Alice loved talking about the ocean, beaches, sailing, and all things Cape Cod.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday July 31, 2024 at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery 450 West 1000 South Kingman, IN 47952. Memorial Contributions may be given to Southeast Fountain Community Foundation. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
