Amy Leah Furr, 88, of Veedesrsburg, passed away 2:50 PM Monday May 24, 2021 at OSF Health Care in Danville, Illinois.
Amy was born May 10, 1933 in Covington, Indiana the daughter of Elvin “Sy” and Lula M. (Hughes) Foley. She married Robert Furr December 11, 1954 in Covington, Indiana; he preceded her in death June 9, 2009.
She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Gillenwater, and Shirley Riley.
Surviving family include a son, Robert W. “Bobby” Furr, Veedersburg; two daughters, Lisa (Ray) Ligocki; Danville, IL; Lezlie Furr, Danville, IL; four sisters, Roseanna Maust, Marvel Moore, Ruth (Walter) Irvin; Linda (Ted) Warfield, three brothers, Sam (Mary Jo) Foley, John (Lois) Foley, Tom (Faye) Foley; three grandchildren, Lance Ligocki. Lee Ligocki, Tanner Furr; and two great-grandchildren Lanie Ligocki, and Trace Ligocki.
Amy graduated from Flippin High School in Arkansas. She was employed at RMC in Attica for approx. 40 years. Amy was a very active person throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling with her family; she had been to most states and especially liked traveling to Las Vegas. She enjoyed bingo, dancing, music, shopping, and large family get-togethers. She had been a babysitter to many other children throughout her life. Amy will be dearly missed by her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Manor for the care they provided for Amy.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM (EDT) Friday May 28, 2021 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg IN with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon (EDT) on Friday at the funeral home and continue until the time of service at 2:00. Burial will follow the service at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
