Barbara Jean Ritter

Barbara “Barb” Jean Ritter, 78, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away early Monday morning, March 17, 2025, at Reid Hospital in Richmond surrounded by family.

She was born July 9, 1946 in Covington, Indiana, one of four children of Earl and Josephine Galloway. She was a graduate of Covington High School in the class of 1965. She married Henry C. Ritter on January 27, 1968 at the First Baptist Church in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2022.

Barb was employed at Pavey Foodland, where she worked for 20 years. She was known to always have a smile for every customer. During her free-time, Barb enjoyed watching the Purdue Boilermakers play, whom she was an avid fan of. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, in Connersville, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Galloway, and brother-in-law Henry Meadows.

Surviving family include two sons, Dennis (Terra) Ritter, of Monrovia, Indiana; Thomas (Courtney) Ritter, Connersville, Indiana; two sisters, Carolyn (Paul) Bowman, Covington, Indiana; Nancy Meadows, Covington, Indiana; sister-in-law, Judy Galloway, Covington, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Gabrielle Ritter, Griffin Ritter, Ian Ritter, Lilah Ritter, Sophia Ritter, Gretchen Ritter, and Maya Ritter; and one great grandson, Shane Ritter.

Friends and family can attend the service at 12:00 Noon Saturday April 5, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church 701 West Third Street Connersville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or Fayette County Animal Shelter.
