Betty F Hicks

Betty F. Hicks, 92, of Veedersburg IN, passed away at her residence 2:10 AM Sunday March 31, 2019.

Betty was born March 9, 1927 in Bull Fork, Kentucky the daughter of Melvin and Molly (Markwell) Eldridge. She married Jessie Nelson Hicks March 3, 1943 in Sharkey, Kentucky; he preceded her in death November 18, 1976.

She is also preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, and four grandsons.

Surviving family include a son, Sam R. (Donna) Hicks, Covington; five daughters, Madge M. James, Davenport, IA; Judy Allen, Covington IN; Molly (Richard) Burns, Moline, IL; Debbie Hicks, Covington; Monica (Chris) Clawson, Otterbein IN; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.    

Betty loved people and enjoyed an active social life, she was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington, she was a member of KIT Club at Sterling Christian Church, Red Hat Society, Hub Club in Veedersburg; she also enjoyed playing bingo and just spending time at the Covington Senior Center.

Visitation will be 11:00AM – 1:00PM Wednesday April 3, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral will begin at 1:00PM Wednesday at Dickerson Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating; burial will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington.
