Charles R. “Chuck” “Stoney” Stonebraker, 76, lifelong resident of Veedersburg, passed away 9:30 PM Monday February 7, 2022 at his residence with his family at his side.
Chuck was born July 3, 1945 in Veedersburg the son of Charley Alvin and Edith May (Shirley) Stonebraker. He married Carol J. Epperhart July 5, 1964 in Veedersburg.
Surviving family include his wife, Carol J. Stonebraker, Veedersburg; a daughter, Connie S. Heneghan, Veedersburg; a sister, Beverly J. Keeling, Veedersburg; two grandchildren, Nicholas E. Scheurich, Charles A Scheurich; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn A. Scheurich, and Chasten A. Scheurich.
He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and four sisters.
Chuck graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1963; he was employed at General Motors in Tilton IL for 30 years prior to his retirement. After his retirement Chuck still enjoyed staying busy working. He had done carpentry work for many people throughout the Veedersburg area. He had also volunteered many hours at the Fountain County 4H Fairgrounds; building the goat barn, and doing carpentry work on many of the other barns and buildings. In more recent years he enjoyed setting on his porch watching the eagles, and having morning coffee with the guys in town.
Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday February 16, 2022 at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg with Chaplin Tom Covington officiating. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
