Dale Ervin Cushman

Dale Ervin Cushman, 83, of Veedersburg, passed away 4:25 AM Monday September 28, 2020 at the Waters of Covington.

Dale was born November 22, 1936 in Veedersburg the son of Alva I and Eva E (Baker) Cushman. He married Carol A Craig Cripe October 7, 1979.

Surviving family include his wife, Carol A Cushman, Veedersburg; children,  Fonda (David) Winchester, Greenville, IL; Randy (Tracy) Cushman, West Lebanon IN; Greg Cushman, Hoopeston, IL; Stacy (Randy) Kingrey, Danville IL; Diana Jean (Jim) Scherer, Jonesboro IL; Mark (Darby) Jean, Marshall, IN;  a sister, Nelda Byers, Dayton, IN; a brother, David Cushman, West Lebanon, IN; step-children,  Daniel (Lori) Cripe, Marysville, OH; Penny (Ryan) Beck, Jamestown, IN; Angela Cripe, Terre Haute, IN; Arda (Mark) Meadows, Hillsboro, IN; Jacob (Amber) Cripe, Jamestown, IN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Eva Marie Cushman; a great-grandson, Elijah Cushman; and a brother, Gene Cushman.  

Dale graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1955. After high school he had served his country in the National Guard, and he was a member of American Legion Post #288. He had been employed by Olin and Fuji Processing; he also operated the Recreation Room in downtown Veedersburg for many years.

Per Dale’s request there will be no public services and he will be buried at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be given to a family in need.
