Daniel Lee “Dan” Covault, 55, of Veedersburg, passed away 11:00 PM Tuesday October 19, 2021 at Fountain Springs in Covington, Indiana.

Dan was born October 17, 1966 in Danville, Illinois the son of Fred F. Covault and Jo Ann Zick; they have preceded him in death.

Surviving family include two brothers, Travis (Sherry) Covault, Veedersburg; Waylon (Brandy) Smith, Attica; a sister, Priscilla (Jason) Hetrick, Veedersburg; seven nieces and nephews, Dustin Smith, Sutton Smith, Chelsey Smith, Taylor Snoddy, Alexis Cates, Hunter Hetrick, and Brooke Covault.

Dan was employed as dock supervisor at Caterpillar in Lafayette where he also operated forklifts; prior to that he had been employed at Furrows in Lafayette for 19 years. He loved his job and he loved to work, but in his free time he enjoyed being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, floating down the Wabash River with his dog Roscoe (who has also preceded him in death), and he enjoyed mushrooming and Indianapolis Colts football.

Visitation will be 11:00 to 2:00 Saturday October 23, 2021 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service will begin 2:00 PM Saturday October 23, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Veedersburg.
