Darrell L Holycross

Darrell L. Holycross, 69, of Veedersburg, passed away 2:55 AM Sunday August 18, 2019 at his residence.

Darrell was born September 28, 1949 in Crawfordsville, IN the son of Nile L. and Pauline (Cain) Holycross; he married Linda Fay (Allen) March 25, 1989 in Veedersburg, IN.

Surviving family include his wife, Linda Fay Holycross, Veedersburg; three children, Daniel Holycross, Crawfordsville; Jaime (J.C.) Crane, Crawfordsville; America Newnum, Indianapolis; two sisters, Twila Zackmire, Veedersburg; Sharon (Joe) Barton, Crawfordsville; four grandchildren, Dylon Holycross, Kadence Crane, Bailey Crane, and Jacee Crane.   

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Loren Holycross & Jerry Holycross; and two sisters, Lorene Holycross & Loretta Summers.

Darrell graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1967; he was employed at RR Donnelly in Crawfordsville for over 30 years and had retired from there in 2016. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington.

Darrell will be remembered as a quiet and kind man with a great work ethic. He loved his family and enjoyed being around his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday August 20, 2019 at Mt Hope Cemetery in Covington IN with Pastor Michael Hohenstein officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be given to Covington Christian School 518 5^th Street Covington IN 47932. Services entrusted to Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg.
