Donald L. Furr, 85, of Veedersburg IN passed away 11:56 PM Wednesday August 1, 2018 at Franciscan St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Don was born December 28, 1932 in Veedersburg the son of Lloyd Robert and Lillian Arminda (Booe) Furr. He married Claudia Jean Head April 22, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. Surviving family include his wife, Claudia J. Furr, Veedersburg; two daughters, Karen (Craig) Rogers, Veedersburg; Donna Lea Neal, Crawfordsville; two sons, David Allen Furr, Veedersburg; Brian (Kelley) Furr, Veedersburg; eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren and one more on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert Furr & Wayne Furr; and one sister, Betty Barker. Don attended Richland High School; he left high school to serve his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War; he also obtained his GED while in the Air Force. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg. Through the years he had been employed at Harrison Steel in Attica, General Electric in Danville, and he retired from Master Guard in Veedersburg. Don enjoyed IU Basketball; he also liked watching wrestling and western movies on TV. He appreciated old cars, and he loved to tell stories about his younger years. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday August 5, 2018 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg with military honors provided by American legion Post #288.
