E. George Maskel, 79, of Covington IN, went home to be with his Lord, 6:05 PM Monday August 10, 2020.
George was born June 16, 1941 in Georgetown IL the son of Boyd Norman and Hazel Kay (Morrison) Maskel. He married the love of his life Pamela Kay Switzer October 3, 1987 in Covington, IN.
Surviving family include his wife, Pamela Kay Maskel, Covington; five children, Kent (April) Maskel, Covington; Shari (Jim) Wright, Oakwood IL; Matthew (Lisa) Martin, Kingman; Natalie (Ray) Bridwell, Covington; Tiffany (Bob) Reason, San Clemente, CA; a brother, Art (Jeanie) Maskel, Gessie;16 grandchildren, Taylor (Mason) Wallace, Hillary Wright, Drucia Maskel, Dakota Maskel, Dalton Maskel, Dayton Maskel, Celeste (Dylan) Eagle, Isaiah Bridwell, Chloe Martin, Christian (Cammi) Bridwell, Esther Bridwell, Sophia Reason, Seth Martin, Nona Reason, Max Reason, Malah Bridwell
He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Darrell, Jim, and Frederick Maskel.
George was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington IN. He loved the Lord and his faith was a very important part of his life. George & Pam were blessed to be able to travel extensively prior to his sickness. He had been in failing health for the last 18 years, on dialysis for the last 10 years; yet he fully trusted the Lord each and every day
George will be remembered as a person that excelled at whatever he desired to accomplish; whether at work in his farm drainage business, or at his hobbies such as bowling, bow fishing, pitching horseshoes, or coonhunting.. He will be remembered as a kind man with a warm friendly smile. Many people loved George in life, and many will miss him at his passing.
Funeral service will be 6:00 PM Thursday August 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Covington with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Thursday at the church and continue until the time of service at 6:00PM. Memorial contributions may be given to BsideU For Life Pregnancy Center (A Pro-Life clinic where their granddaughter Celeste is employed) 701 West Muhammad Ali Drive Louisville KY 40203.
