James Gordon “Tucker” Bentley, 77, of Veedersburg, passed away January 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Peggy J Bentley for 38 years.
Born on December 17, 1943 in Crawfordsville IN, he was the son of the late William James and Margaret (Stonebraker) Bentley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Fred Bentley. In addition to his wife Peggy, those he leaves to cherish his memory are his children Darrin (wife Dee) Bentley, Veedersburg IN; Kim (husband Dave) Phemister, Lynchburg VA; a niece/bonus daughter Alyssa Hansen and her fiancé Trent Spear; six grandchildren, Lucas Bentley, Toby (wife Audrey) Keller, Wayde Bentley, Andrew Phemister, Adam Phemister, Emily Phemister; four great-grandchildren, Kohen & Kyson Keller, Rhian & Bodhi Spear.
Tucker graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1961. He was retired from Tee Pak in the research & development department after 36 years. He was a longstanding member of the F. & A.M. Lodge #491 in Veedersburg. Tucker loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and mushrooming. He was a phenomenal cook, preparing all the game he harvested.
