James Addison York

James Addison “Jamie” York, 48, of Veedersburg passed away 5:50 AM Sunday May 12, 2019 at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville, IN.

Jamie was born May 17, 1970 in Danville, Illinois the son of James F. “Jim” and Kathryn M. “Kate” (Keeling) York. He married Jackie Oaks April 12, 1997 in Veedersburg, IN.

Surviving family include his wife, Jackie York, Veedersburg; two sons, Dylan James York (fiancé Taylar Hanson) and Matthew James York, both of Veedersburg; a niece Breyanna Spencer; two nephews, Steven Spencer and Zachary Oaks; a great-nephew, Kolten Spencer; two great-nieces, Kylee Spencer and Braelyn Lee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister, Melissa Kay York.

Jamie graduated from Fountain Central High School in 1988, and ISU in Terre Haute 1992. He loved to be outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending sporting events, whether it be professional sports, college, or local high school sporting events, especially the games where his sons were playing. He enjoyed dirt track stock car racing, woodworking, and he enjoyed talking and visiting with people. He was the president of the Bonebrake Cemetery Board, and he had been employed for many years at Thyssen Krupp Presta in Danville, IL.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday May 16, 2019 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Ryan Sowers officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Thursday and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
