Jerald Lee “Jerry” Hatch, 79, of Veedersburg IN, passed away peacefully 9:50 AM Friday November 3, 2017 at his residence. Jerry was born December 18, 1937 in Crown Point IN the son of Burlin and Mary (Vallee) Hatch. He married Wilma Mae (Quasebarth) June 4, 1995 in Hammond IN. Surviving family include his wife Wilma M. Hatch, Veedersburg; a daughter, Jeri Hatch (husband, Larry Traxler), Maryland; three step-children, Pam (husband, Gab) Horn, Angola IN; Dan (wife, Jane) Neal, Cedar Lake IN; Terri (husband, Jerry) Seitzinger, Roselawn IN; two sons, Jerry Allen Hatch, Jim Hatch; two sisters, Dorothy Jensen, Lowell IN; Carol Dunbar, Florida; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Hatch; five brothers and two sisters. Jerry served his country in the US Army. He was employed for many years at Calumet Flexicore by the Local Teamsters Union #142 as a truck driver. Jerry and Wilma moved to Veedersburg in 1997 and he retired shortly thereafter. He was a member of the American Legion Post #288 in Veedersburg and was an active member in their funeral honor guard detail. Throughout his life he had been active in competitive trap shooting. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM (EST) Tuesday November 7, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home 303 N Main Veedersburg IN 47987. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM (EST) Tuesday and continue until the time of service. Burial with graveside service will be 11:00 AM (CST) Wednesday November 8, 2017 at Lake Prairie Cemetery, Route 2 and US 41 near Lowell IN.
